The first briefing was about Trump fighting the protective order

Why prosecutors want a protective order in the criminal case against Trump: An analysis of a panel discussion on the case against Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign

“I’ve said before that Donald Trump was morally responsible for what happened, and that he’s been charged with criminal conduct in regard to that,” he said.

“I believe jurors can be fair,” said Christie, a former supporter of Trump’s who’s criticized his attempts to cast doubt on the 2020 election results. I believe in the American people and that jurors will listen fairly and impartially.

Also on the show was Chris Christie, the former federal prosecutor who believes that Trump will get a fair trial in D.C.

“President Trump was wrong then, and he’s wrong now. I had no right to overturn the election,” Pence said on CNN’s State of the Union. “The American people deserve to know that President Trump asked me to put him over my oath to the Constitution, but I kept my oath and I always will.”

Even though Trump is still the Republican front-runner, other candidates, including his former Vice President Mike Pence, have criticized Trump for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Trump said his team would request a change of venue and would like the case to be out of Washington, D.C.

The Truth Social Post: Sensitivities to Protective Orders from Dilemma against the U.S. Attorneys in a Case involving Exculpatory Evidence

A Jamaican born judge, Chutkan obtained a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and later worked for the District of Columbia Public Defenders Service. She was appointed to the District Court in the U.S.

Trump said in another social media post on Sunday that his defense team would immediately ask “for recusal of this judge on very powerful grounds,” though he didn’t specify what those grounds would be.

Lauro told George Stephanopoulos that the attack was on him and members of the press. The Biden administration wants the press not to know about exculpatory and helpful evidence that people have a right to know about.

Publicly, though, Lauro made pointed criticisms of the proposed protective order during his appearances on various political TV talk shows Sunday morning.

Attorneys for former President Donald Trump have until Monday to respond to a request by federal prosecutors for a protective order.

The attorneys motion stated that a few more days would let them and the Justice Department resolve the dispute without court intervention.

On Saturday, Chutkan denied a request from Trump’s attorneys for more time to respond to the request for a protective order, leaving them until 5 p.m. Monday to reply to the Justice Department’s proposal and suggest any changes.

The Truth Social post is a political speech that is not directed at anyone that was involved in the election case against Trump.

The motion states that if the public posts were to include information obtained from discovery here, it could have a detrimental effect on witnesses or the fair administration of justice.

That is particularly critical in this case, they argued, because Trump has “previously issued public statements on social media regarding witnesses, judges, attorneys, and others associated with legal matters pending against him.”

Stanford Law School professor David Sklansky said protective orders are commonly used in criminal cases to shield sensitive information about investigative tactics, cooperating witnesses or national security.

He said that it was a case by case decision if there was a reason to fear the dissemination of information.

Trump Can’t Get Away Without Someone’s Fingerprints: Implications for Washington and other Central Bank Crime Prosecutor’s

The Justice Department charged Trump with some crimes due to the fact that he lost in the presidential election. In federal court in DC, Trump pleaded not guilty.

That would bar Trump and his attorneys from improperly using any evidence — which may include sensitive and highly confidential information — that prosecutors share with the defense team before trial.

That could include potential evidence, such as grand jury documents and witness statements, and it may contain personal identifying details and other confidential information.

The Economic Community of West African states (ECOWAS) has given coup leaders in Niger an ultimatum, to remove the ousted president by Sunday or face military intervention. The deadline has passed, and Niger’s military leaders have cut diplomatic ties with the U.S., Nigeria and France and aligned with leaders in Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea to defend themselves.

Failed to Prevent the Birth of a Baby: A Case Study of the Nairobi Conventional Bombing of September 11, 2011 at the American Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya

The FDA approved the first pill to treat depression. The pill is taken once a day for 14 days, and two studies from the pill’s manufacturer, Sage Therapeutics, showed results appeared in as little as three days for many patients. Pricing information for the pill isn’t available.

Since 2011, Juneau, Alaska, has seen glacial outburst flooding called jökulhlaup every summer when an ice dam from a nearby mountain releases water downstream. But this year’s flooding has been the worst by far, destroying homes and catching residents off guard. KTOO reports.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of al-Qaeda’s bomb attacks on the American embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It was the first time most of us outside the intelligence community had heard of the group, but it obviously would not be the last; 9/11 came three years later.

The East Africa Embassy bombings killed 224 people and injured more than 4500, but I reported on the attack from Nairobi when I was at ABC News, and that’s not what sticks with me.

The office building that was next to the embassy housed a school for office workers and there were blood-stained folder on the floor. Many of them kept the books for family ventures and weddings, especially weddings, which were traditionally large.

Budgets for décor, food and attire were all over the floor, smeared with blood or ripped by shattered glass — a stand-in for shattered lives. Of course, I wondered: Which of these hoped-for, saved-for weddings would actually take place? Which families would have to pay for funeral instead of taking these savings?

DUN DUN! What’s Happening to Eric Deggans when Law & Order Meets Television Potato Chips? A Pop Up Question for Eric

DUN DUN! Eric Deggans loves the sound effect of Law & Order. The show is not something he’s really into, it’s the short snippets of the show that are on the internet. He says that it’s like going on an endless stream of television potato chips, with a new scenario just as you’re bored with the last one. He doesn’t need to know how the story ends because the videos keep on playing.
