Starbucks Rewards: A partnership to promote awareness and growth in the u.s.-stopping-cafe-dalpha, Delta, and Starbucks Odyssey
Coffee chain started partnering with Delta to let rewards members earn airline miles. And earlier this month, it launched a beta version of Starbucks Odyssey — an extension of the rewards program that allows users to earn NFTs.
Program members earn stars when they make purchases. One dollar spent using a Starbucks Card equates to two stars. For credit card or other payment methods, members earn one star per dollar.
The company hopes to expand Starbucks Rewards because of the chain’s access to customers data and its ability to reach out to members with deals. Plus, members typically spend more money on each purchase compared to non-members. Starbucks said in the release that partnerships like these help it increase awareness and drive growth.
Delta Airlines Adds SkyMiles to the Airline Air Lines and Rewards Programs in the Next-to-Leading Order
The coffee giant is also taking a page from Delta’s playbook, as the airline already has a number of partnerships allowing members to accrue SkyMiles without flying, including for Lyft rides, Instacart purchases and Airbnb stays. The carrier said in the release that this new partnership helps the company “deliver more moments and interactions that matter, both in the air and on the ground.”
Currently, members are able to get a hot tea, coffee or bakery item, 150 for a latte, hot breakfast item or parfait and 200 for a salad, lunch box, if they have at least 50 stars.
The Starbucks rewards website has the new tiers outlined. Insider first reported the changes on Tuesday after reading an internal memo.
