A Survey on Volkswagen and Openai’s GPTs Using the OpenAI-GPT Store and its GPT Deployment Platform
VW promises it won’t force you to create a new account or install any apps. The chatbot can be used by pressing on a button on the steering wheel or by wake words. And OpenAI isn’t getting access to your driving stats, either. Questions and answers are deleted immediately to make sure they are the highest possible level of data protection.
ChatGPT and other large language model chatbots have been known to serve up false information, and OpenAI is being targeted in a number of defamation and copyright infringement lawsuits.
Most of the vehicle voice assistants can do basic functions like turn on seat heaters but don’t give a lot of thought to navigation requests and are often short on communication skills. The need to repeat instructions is common. Many cars are using options from third-party developers.
Openai said last year it would be releasing a platform for making custom versions of the game. Openai is making its GPTs accessible through the GPT Store.
Mercedes-Benz MBUX Voice-Assist System Gets an AI Boost: A Conversation with an Embedded Nvidia LLM
Mercedes vehicles already have voice-command capabilities, allowing drivers to use the phrase, “Hey, Mercedes,” followed by a short command to do things like adjust the temperature in the vehicle, find a navigation destination, or place a phone call.
The voice assistant’s speech will rely on an LLM for natural dialogue and answers to customer questions. It will also feature four “personality traits”: natural, predictive, personal, and empathetic. The company claims that the effect is like a conversation with a friend. An assistant can ask intelligent questions, and answer questions based on general knowledge.
Among its many suppliers, Mercedes relies on Nvidia for its water-cooled chips to power its MB.OS system. advanced driver assist, in-car graphics, and artificial intelligence are just a few of the features enabled by the high-powered systems on a chip that the San Jose company has been developing.
The company that supplied Mercedes-Benz’s generative Artificial Intelligence technology wasn’t identified, according to Mercedes-Benz. “The company works with a range of technology partners to develop and implement the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and natural language processing,” she said in an email. “Mercedes-Benz is committed to working with the best partners in the industry to ensure that the MBUX system remains at the forefront of automotive technology.”

The Future of Autonomy: From Software Defined to Autodefined by Artificial Intelligence, a Conversation with PJM
In-car distractions are at an all time high. Rather than trying to limit the amount of technology that’s crammed into cars, manufacturers are coming up with solutions to make drivers more focused on the road.
It shows the types of traffic, be it another car, van, truck or a cyclist. It shows pedestrians close to the roadside as well as potential hazards. And it superimposes route guidance into a realistic representation of the surroundings – particularly helpful in busy urban environments.
Weast said that the effort to build a vehicle defined by software has a ways to go, mainly because Intel has yet to put its stamp on it. “Nobody’s really been doing software defined quite right yet,” he said. We have a unique perspective, and a set of capabilities that we think can help transition vehicles to be software defined.
The auto industry is facing a number of unique challenges, as it tries to cram more sophisticated computers into its cars, in anticipation of the mass adoption of electric vehicles. Cars are becoming like phones on wheels, they can update their software through over-the-air updates, and they are more reliant on intricate superconductors to complete basic functions. It’s also true.
“I think there’s a lot of opportunities for AI to enhance the vehicle experience and make tech a little less obtrusive,” he added, “and have it be more predictive and fit more seamlessly into the driving or passenger experience.”
EV Energy Management and Battery Size: Intel’s Acquisition of SAE International to Create a New Energy Management Standard for the Next-Generation Automobiles
Energy management and EV battery size are part ofIntel’s announcements today. The company is acquiring Silicon Mobility SAS, “a fabless automotive silicon and software company that designs, develops and deploys EV energy management SoCs.” The aim is to make the transition from batteries heavy and expensive to something more lightweight and easy to manage.
Weast envisions EV batteries that are lighter in weight and that use fewer minerals but still deliver the same range — or better — as the current generation. Intel is working with SAE International to chair a new committee to develop a new standard for EV power management, the company said.
The most expensive parts of a vehicle are the batteries. Vehicles remind us of first generation laptops.
