We wanted to pay attention to the different types of stories, as the Morning team began to publish their best work in the next several years. Below, we have selected some of the year’s best podcast episodes, TikTok videos and graphics. We have included some essays by our colleagues that give you an inside look at the world of journalism.

The Up First Podcast: The Status of Immigration and the Economic Status of the United States in the Context of the War on Corrupt Proton and Nuclear Propagation

Confrontations between the U.S. and Israel’s troops and Iran-backed militias have increased in recent weeks, with attacks in Iran, Lebanon, Syria and the Red Sea. A recent drone attack in Iraq has killed at least one American serviceperson and wounded another. Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas triggered the escalating confrontations. In the last decade there have been over 20,000 deaths in Gaza.

In addition to immigration, the economy will also be a major deciding factor in next year’s presidential election. Recent signs of strength include: inflation is cooling, unemployment is low, job growth is better than expected, and Americans spent a record amount this holiday season. President Biden is not benefiting politically.

There are three people going to Mexico today to talk about immigration with Mexican President Lpez Obrador. An unprecedented number of migrants crosses the border into the United States, as a result of the meeting.
