Samsung’s latest version of its 55-inch Frame TV is on sale for $997.99 at Amazon or $999.99 at Target and Best Buy. This TV is great, and you can dress up your living space if you want, since you can show off your artwork on the display when not in use. The latest Frame uses an anti-glare screen that makes the art look more convincing and less reflective than in the past. It can be flush mounted to a wall since the ports are on a box that keeps them out of view.

The M8 has a microphone and speakers, and it has an attachableWebcam. A handy remote control is included with its software that supports a plethora of built-in streaming apps. I’m not saying you should glue yourself to your chair from morning till night, but this monitor can cover all the bases. Take the occasional walk outside, okay?

The Frame supports 4K resolution at 120Hz, though its other specs are mostly in the “ok” department. For example, it lacks any local dimming. You can get the latest ad-supported Kindle Paperwhite in used condition from Woot for just $84.99, which is about 40 percent cheaper than a new model currently sells for. The cheaper it is compared to the Amazon refurbished model, the more it will save you. The one with the 90-day warranty at Amazon is similar in appearance to the one on sale at Woot, though it has a one-year warranty.

The Paperwhite is a better alternative to the generation that preceded it with more features, including a larger display, a battery that lasts for weeks and a temperature range that can be adjusted. This e-book includes ads, which you have the option to take out if you do not like them. The upcoming Kindle Scribe, with its included stylus and much higher price, seems intriguing, but the Paperwhite is a great reading experience that doesn’t break the bank. The review should be read.

Getting Closer to the Robot Vacuum with Ultra-QLEDs, Mini-LEDs and QN90B: The Challenge of High-Luminosity OLEDs in 2023

A brash, loud auto-emptying robot vacuum that’s long on features and short on style but comes at a real bargain. The Shark AI does not use bags, which is a bonus. But don’t be fooled by the AI in the name — it can only avoid objects if they’re over four inches tall.

Samsung’s 2023 monitor plans don’t just include Odyssey gaming screens and a new version of its Smart Monitor: the company is also directly coming after Apple and LG with a 27-inch, color-accurate 5K monitor called the ViewFinity S9. 99% of the wide color gamut is covered by the 5120x2880IPS display that has a matt finish.

The company offers a line of Ultra QLED TVs with Anti-Glare and Ultra viewing angles, but also a line of Mini-LED TVs in 4K and 8K. On the other hand, QLED is a Samsung branded feature, which uses technology called quantum dots along with Mini LED backlights to emit light all on their own. A standard OLED panel does not use a backlight but instead uses its own light as its own light source. Got it? Good.

The newer sets of QN90B had 33 million pictures and were bright and colorful. The contrast in the darker scenes in “Stranger Things” seemed less precise and more saturated, though we did come to the Neo QLEDs from those super-deep blacks of the OLED TV, which is a tough act to follow. The football game streamed from Amazon Prime looked stunning and the colors looked nice, but the Hi-fi Rush action was less vibrant and the timing of our attacks wasn’t as great as it could have been.

Two of these monitors have a VESA spec that means they can reach 400 nits of peak brightness. Depending on what you watch on them, they may deliver lower brightness in reality. During HDTVTest’s review of the Alienware QD-OLED monitor, which has the same True Black spec as these new Samsung monitors, it delivered closer to 280 nits while displaying an all-white screen (the most brutal challenge for an OLED).

The monitors are meant to connect to powerful consoles and PCs, but they also support the Gaming Hub, which lets you play on cloud streaming services. They also have Smart Hub, which let them access smart TV apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and more. Both of them have Mini DisplayPort and Micro HDMI 2.1, as well as up to 65W of charging.

The ViewFinity S9 can also support a wide assortment of I/O. It is capable of charging up to 96 watt laptops. The S9’s sleek design and metal enclosure are in keeping with Apple’s Studio Display and LG’s higher-end OLED monitors. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get an answer at press time as to whether Samsung’s latest monitor includes local dimming. They would be highlighting that feature if it did. Black levels might not be up to par with Mini LEDs and OLED screens. According to the company, the added benefits of the HDR 600 include improving image shadow and highlight details.

This monitor is geared towards prosumers, which is not a problem for the Tizen TV OS that SAMSUNG built into the ViewFinity S9. So you’ll be able to access all the usual streaming apps even when the display isn’t connected to any external devices. It ships with a slim 4K webcam in the box that you can attach as needed for video calls, and Samsung says the software will automatically zoom and intelligently track the subject.

In order to make the calibration process simpler for the newest addition to its monitor lineup, there’s an app on your phone. “The built-in color calibration engine ensures precise screen color and brightness, allowing users to adjust white balance, gamma, and RGB color balance for perfect accuracy with their smartphones through the Samsung Smart Calibration application,” the company wrote in its press release. How well that works in practice, we’ll need to see for ourselves.

We’re going to have first-hand impressions of the ViewFinity S9 when it comes out this week in Las Vegas. The company is also announcing the SmartMonitor M80C, a minor refresh of last year’s display that comes in new colors and adds a SmartThings Hub to the display — plus a feature called My Contents, which “adds photos, schedules, weather, and more to the screen’s ambient display,” according to Samsung. It will be available in five colors: white, pink, blue, and green.

The S95C is no slouch on the sound front either. It’s outfitted with a 70-watt 4.2.2-channel Dolby Atmos speaker setup. The pricing and availability information should be forthcoming over the next few weeks. I would expect the company to maintain the same prices as last year. Count me very curious on what that 77-inch model ends up selling for.

It sounds like the S95C will get even brighter than the S95B; the next-generation panel will also come with other benefits like improved overall durability, and it will use less power. The new display was put through a series of tests and came away impressed by its potential.

With a 0.1- millisecond response time, S95C eliminates ghosting, when images fade rather than completely disappear, and offers visualization options not found on other televisions. The S95C supports a wide range of gaming consoles, from the world’s first 4K support for NVIDIA GeForce NOW to the availability of Microsoft, Amazon, and Utomik.

It is worth checking out this deal if you are looking for a great QLED TV that isn’t your typical TV and if you are also planning on watching the Super Bowl. The 65-inch Frame is discounted by both Best Buy and Samsung, which is the lowest price ever. There is a screen on the Frame TV that is anti-reflective. Not only can it defeat glare — it can also make paintings displayed on it look realistic. It comes with an art mode that cycles between famous pieces when it detects motion in the room, turning this TV into a conversation starter.

The 41mm GPS configuration of the Apple Watch Series 8 is currently discounted to $349 at Walmart and Best Buy (normally $399). The Series 8 is the same price as the Apple Watch Series 7, but it has some helpful features. While you’ll likely still need to top off the Series 8 every day to keep it charged (depending on your usage), the low-power mode should help to keep your wearable running for just a bit longer. Improving the Roku 2023 Home Theater System: What’s new with the Samsung Qualed-Oled TV? How excited can we be?

The Roku Streambar is still matching its all-time low price of $99.99 at Target, Best Buy, and Amazon (normally $129.99). The Streambar is compact, wall-mountable 14-inch soundbar with the unique ability to pipe 4K content via Roku’s streaming platform. It can provide audio when connected via optical audio, as well as being able to be used with additional speakers down the line for more powerful sound.

We were allowed to see the TVs in January, but later traveled to a special testing facility in New Jersey to help kick their tires before they were officially unveiled. We were lucky.

We noticed that the upgrade over last year’s models are mostlyIncremental from last year’s models. The same product that the company announced last year is still in existence; it lets you stream games from services like Xbox and Amazon Luna without hooking up a console, as well as the sometimes buggy Tizen-operated Smart Hub. However, if you have been waiting for the most up-to- date home theater setup to be delivered, you will be rewarded with a promising 2023 lineup, which will be coming from authorized retailers this week.

Our biggest takeaways? These TVs are already great, but they should be even better because of a slimmer and brighter panel for their 77-inch television, a smaller solar remote control and even more gaming-friendly refresh rates.

QLED 1080p Ultra-Low Cost TVs: Upgrades to 8K Embedded Sound Bars, Game Motion Plus, and Auto HDR Remastering

Though 8K sounds fancy and oh-so-exciting, the technology is still something of a luxury for those who have extra cash, have extra space and may want to show off the latest and greatest. With almost no 8K content to watch at this time, what you will be getting is four times the amount of pixels of a 4K TV (and a whopping 16 times of a 1080p HD TV) — which simply means that an 8K TV will internally upscale your current HD and 4K content to what should be a much sharper, brighter picture. And though we did see a slight difference in color, contrast and details on the 75-inch screen when we streamed Netflix and some 4K football footage, and played games on the Xbox Series S, it wasn’t until we fired up some 8K content on YouTube that we saw a clear upgrade in the picture.

Both the QN900C and the QN800C come with Dolby Atmos for more engaging sound, and a Game Motion Plus feature that pairs with 144Hz for smoother gaming. It was obvious from the games that they were nearly identical to how they did on the 4K model. Unless you use a souped-up gaming PC with your TV, you won’t get much benefit from this panel when it comes to games.

Of course, you’ll still get the 8.3 million pixels and a processor, which, like the Neo QLED TVs, uses AI to upscale content to 4K, as well as a sleek design with that handy OneConnect Box to hide those annoying cables. And, though we would expect anyone throwing down the cash for this TV to upgrade to a soundbar, the embedded speakers did just fine.

The new Auto HDR remastering feature, which uses AI to create high dynamic range (HDR) effects on standard dynamic range (SDR) content, is optional — meaning you don’t have to add the artificial enhancements. It will make the picture brighter. When we are able to complete a full review, we will be more intimate with the new feature.

We were unable to read a full review of the QLED 4K lineup, but we will be able to at least play with the remastering feature.
